WHERE TO START: RAMPS

Building a custom wheelchair ramp may seem simple, but there is a lot to consider. Here are a few things to think about:

  • Do I have enough space? For every inch of rise to your door - you need one foot of length to meet code!

  • A 1:12 slope can be too steep for some conditions. Will this grading work for you in the long term?

  • Oh Canada - how will I clear the snow in wintertime? Should I build a covered ramp/deck?

  •  Location! Front door? Through a garage? Do I want access to my backyard? Or all of the above!

  • Design - as creative or simple as you'd like! Depending on scale, some projects may require an architect.

STYLE & FUNCTION?

Ramps & Decks need to work for everyone in your family - and they should look as fantastic as they work.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

It's as easy as giving us a call to chat about your needs (and wants!). We'll come & meet with you, measure up, and discuss some options on the spot. We'll then head to the drawing board to create a great design & get a quote into your hands.

For large-scale projects, we can coordinate with architects or engineers on your behalf.

"The team over at BuildAble are absolutely fantastic - knowledgeable, passionate and hard working. They researched and provided multiple solutions for a ramp, taking the time to explain each, making it easy to come to a decision.  I would highly recommend BuildAble for any accessibility needs!"
