We are looking for:

• An experienced handy-person (5+years) or entry-level carpenter looking for rewarding work;

• Experience in installing home safety modifications is an asset (e.g. grab bars, ramps, railings, tub cuts, etc.) - but not required! We'll train :)

• Someone who enjoys autonomy and who can build rapport, trust and respect with older adults and their families.

• Reputation for being punctual, reliable, and high quality workmanship.

• Experience and access to your own small hand tools (grinder, etc); physically able to work in inaccessible homes & ability to lift heavy products as needed

• Potentially accept delicious cookies from clients.

I'm in, but what will my days will look like?? Putting it on the table here, so please read!

• You will be the lead installer for our RapidAccess division.

• This is a VERY autonomous role. We stay connected throughout the day, but you will often be physically on your own (once you're up to speed and ready to roll, of course!). You'll likely visit a few different homes or residences throughout the day.

• You'll chat with the client before carrying out your predefined work order (ex. tub cut + 2 grab bars), & work is usually done in personal bathrooms or commercial/ retirement homes. Sometimes it's a tight squeeze & somedays you'll be in a mansion. No matter how big or small, our clients (often seniors & their families) are so grateful to have you in their home.

• You'll be trained to use our Point-of-Sales machine & will take payment at the end of your installations (don't worry - the client is always well-aware of the invoice beforehand and you have support from the office!).

• Once you get the knack of things, you'll likely feel comfortable to suggest other safety products or mods that can help a client stay safe & independent in their home. Not an "up-sell"... only things that may genuinely help.

• You'll keep inventory up-to-date, and advise the team if anything needs to be ordered. You'll also ensure the RapidAccess van is packed up each day.

• And absolutely taking pride and accountability for your work - we don't cut corners. If we don't know something, we figure it out TOGETHER. We have a team in the office ready to support at all times.

• You may be asked to assist on renovation sites here & there for the opportunity to grow/learn new skills - we all pitch in from time to time!

• Essentially: you love independence, helping seniors & have great organization skills :)
