The BuildAble Team
Making life more accessible for every age & ability.
Sean’s 10+ years of experience working as an Elevating Devices Mechanic (EDM) in a family-run business made the transition to installing stair lifts and home elevators a seamless move, while bringing along strong family values into his new venture. Prior to this, Sean served as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. His leadership skills, work ethic and an ongoing commitment to helping veterans, has been instrumental in the company’s service inclusion with Canada’s Veterans Independent Program (VIP). Sean is the co-lead on the MS Society's Governance Relations Committee and sits on the leadership board for the Employment Accessibility Resource Network (EARN). Sean's passion has transformed this small start-up into the award-winning design and accessible renovation company it is today. On the side, Sean is renewing his love of road-biking, is training to become a Dive Master, and is loving his new role as a proud poppa.

“Every job presents an opportunity to put different skills to work and help people. It’s a win-win situation for me and my team.”
Chuck Jackson is BuildAble’s key client facilitator and large-project estimator. He has extensive experience leading in both manufactured and site-built construction. His track record of innovation in the field of energy efficient building began by constructing some of the first air tight super insulated homes in Canada, where he developed the details that would become the best practice standard for the industry. His ability to bring this innovative thinking to the world of accessibility has been instrumental in helping design and create functional solutions on some of BuildAble’s largest accessible renovation projects. Chuck is an enthusiastic learner and is currently proud-to-be the oldest student in his piano class. We’re all just waiting for the recital.
Steve graduated with Honours from the Heritage Carpentry and Millwork program as well as the Cabinet-Making certificate program at Algonquin College. Before joining the BuildAble team, Steve ran a successful renovation business and has garnered over 20 years of experience changing people’s homes – and now their lives.
“I consider myself very blessed to come to work every day knowing I’m positively changing people’s lives one renovation at a time.”
Outside of work, Steve can usually be found in the outdoors – from camping and fishing, to the soccer fields cheering on his son. We also have it on good authority from this young soccer player that Steve is the best tree-house builder in the world. We believe it!
