Kyla MacGinnis is an award-winning entrepreneur and co-founder of BuildAble, an Ottawa-based company specializing in accessible design and home renovations. Alongside her husband, Sean MacGinnis, she integrates healthcare expertise into construction, ensuring that homes are both functional and aesthetically pleasing for individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Kyla brings a unique perspective to accessible home modifications, emphasizing the importance of safety and style. She has been recognized for her contributions to the field, including receiving the WBN Business Woman of the Year Award in the emerging entrepreneur category in 2017 and an Alumni of Distinction Award in Health Sciences from Algonquin College in 2018.

Kyla is also a faculty advisor and instructor for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program, where she mentors future healthcare professionals. Her passion for accessibility extends beyond her professional work; she enjoys writing about accessible design and is an advocate for creating inclusive environments. In her personal life, Kyla is a dog lover, finding joy and companionship with her canine friends!
